Consequences

Rita is 16 years old, living in a high density area of Africa. She has a lot going for her - she is bright, talented, and has a steady boyfriend. She is soon to graduate from secondary school, with plans to go on to university. For Rita, life is at its peak ... until the day she finds out that she is pregnant. The consequences are staggering.

 

A Zimbabwean mini-feature with a message" film designed for an African adolescent audience about teenage pregnancy. The film demonstrates the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy to encourage youth to take precaution. 

This film has won eight awards: British Medical Association, National Educational Film and Video Festival, National Council on Family Relations, Chicago Int'l Film Festival, Int'l Film, the TV Festival of New York, PCTV, the National Black Programming Consortium and Cinevue Int'l Film Festival.
