Fourteen year old Tariro is full of promise, studying hard for her grade seven exams. She is disappointed when her father tells her this will be her final year at school. He feels she should now prepare for marriage.

Meanwhile Precious, Tariro's older sister, is forced to return to the homestead when her marriage fails. There are no jobs opportunities for this school leaver, now a mother.

When Precious learns of her father's decision to stop Tariro's education, she is driven by her own inadequacy. Will she convince her father to let Tariro continue with her education?
