Praying for Rain

Praying for Rain documents the leadership and purpose of the Zimbabwean people and their government as they struggle through the worst drought of the century and keep it from turning into a national crisis. It is refreshing good news from Africa. Battling against the odds, their efforts to avert famine are so successful that they actually reap a harvest.

The documentary chronicles the drought and the Zimbabwe governments' innovative methods used in relief assistance such as Food-for-Work projects. Praying for Rain also looks at the controversial methods of wildlife management practices used by Zimbabweans to preserve a small group of endangered species during the drought.

Praying for Rain has been heralded as an African masterpiece in documentary film and a unique production collaboration between the First and Third World.
