Put Yourself in Her Shoes

Sister Rose works in a busy hospital in sub-Saharan Africa. She admits to losing her patience with women she has treated, particularly women being treated for complications of unsafe abortion. Through the individual stories of women and by following the steps in the GATHER approach to family planning counseling, Rose takes us on her journey towards effective and empathetic counseling. She discovers that she can help prevent future unsafe abortions. 

The video "Put Yourself in Her Shoes" is part of a training package that includes a video discussion guide for trainers, a counseling review sheet for providers, and a prototype leaflet for clients.
