Saikati

The story of a young Maasai girl who is forbidden to continue her education as she has been promised in marriage to the chief's son. In order to fulfill her dreams and continue her education, Saikati accepts her cousin's offer, to go back with her to Nairobi, and runs away from the village. Her cousin promised her a job in the city that would help finance her education. Saikati, however, quickly learns of the darkness and filthiness of the city and the job her cousin had concocted for her. Her innocence and youth direct her to return home and try to cope with her uncle's directive. Her desire to get an education becomes a  struggle to get back home.
